Pension Plus Dental Care in Jersey
Confidence Dental & Wellbeing is a registered Pension Plus dentist in St Helier. If you qualify for the Government of Jersey’s Pension Plus scheme, it pays up to £55 a year towards your check-up and up to £1,900 every four years towards dental treatment or dentures.
We make sure your Pension Plus benefit is used before you spend a penny. You’ll get a written estimate before any treatment, and 0% finance if your care costs more than your benefit.

Your yearly check-up
Pension Plus pays up to £55 a year towards your check-up. Our routine examination is £45, so it’s usually covered in full. We also offer free mouth cancer screening, including for people with full dentures.
A plan around your allowance
Before treatment, we confirm how much benefit you have left and give you a written estimate showing what Pension Plus pays and what you pay. Essential care comes first, and larger work can be planned around when your allowance renews.
Prevention first
Scale and polish with our hygienists and gum treatment are both covered. Healthy gums protect your teeth, and your allowance, from bigger treatment later.
Dentures, implants and repairs
Dentures and denture repairs from a dentist are covered, and so are dental implants. Your allowance can go towards a new denture, or towards implants that hold a loose denture firmly in place.
Spread the difference
If your treatment costs more than your benefit, spread the balance at 0% interest: over 3 months on plans from £350, or over 6 months on plans from £500.

Eligibility
Who can get Pension Plus in Jersey?
You can apply for Pension Plus if all of these apply to you:
- You’ve reached Jersey pension age. For most people this is between 65 and 67, depending on when you were born.
- You get a Social Security pension or have Entitled residential status.
- You and your partner don’t pay Jersey income tax, or your combined tax bill is £1,000 a year or less.
- You and your partner have less than £64,000 in savings and assets. Your home doesn’t count.

On the government’s list of Pension Plus dentists, we appear under our previous name, Confidence Dental Care. Choose that name when you tell Pension Plus which dentist you’d like to use.

As well as check-ups, we offer the treatments our older patients ask about most. Is Confidence Dental a Pension Plus dentist?
Yes. We’re a registered Pension Plus member dentist. On the Government of Jersey’s list of member dentists, we appear under our previous name, Confidence Dental Care.
How much does Pension Plus pay towards dental care?
Up to £55 every year towards a dental check-up, and up to £1,900 every four years towards dental treatment or dentures. You pay any costs above your available benefit.
Who can get Pension Plus?
You must have reached Jersey pension age and get a Social Security pension or have Entitled residential status. You and your partner must not pay Jersey income tax, or have a combined tax bill of £1,000 a year or less, and must have less than £64,000 in assets, not counting your home.
How do I apply for Pension Plus?

No. We claim from Pension Plus first, up to your available benefit, so you don’t spend a penny until it’s used up. You then pay any difference.
Does Pension Plus cover dental implants?
Yes. Dental implants are on the scheme’s list of covered treatments, so your £1,900 allowance can go towards an implant. Our guide price for an implant and crown is £2,700, and you can spread the balance over 6 months at 0% interest.
Does Pension Plus cover dentures and denture repairs?
Yes, when they’re provided by a dentist. New dentures bought from a denture laboratory without a prescription from a Pension Plus dentist aren’t covered.
What doesn’t Pension Plus cover?
Cosmetic treatment such as teeth whitening, veneers and cosmetic braces, missed or late appointment fees, prescriptions and medication, mouth cancer treatment, and toothpaste, mouthwash or floss.
